Exceptional Management

     While great ideas, innovative technologies, and favorable market conditions are important building blocks for a successful company, the primary success factor we look for is an exceptional management team – one with solid operational experience and deeply rooted domain expertise. In other words, an exceptional management team with deep domain knowledge of its technology and market.

     We seek involvement in opportunities where we can help support a management team as they strive to create an entirely new market segment or a major technical breakthrough significant enough to alter an industry's current commercial paradigm.

Exceptional Partners

    The amount of capital we invest in a particular company is not as important as our ability to participate meaningfully in the company's development and success. In this sense, we seek teams and projects that offer us the chance to put our experiences, knowledge and networks to work to help a management team accelerate their rate of achievement.

     We believe that having dedicated resources available to help very early stage ventures get off on the right foot is one of the keys to building and growing companies that lead in their market segment. As a result, we take an active approach to supporting our teams by providing strategic advice and introductions to new customers and partners while never forgetting that great companies are run by exceptional executives, not good investors.

Exceptional Investments

     We look for companies with strong competitive characteristics that provide motivated management teams the platform to create significant value in partnership with LVI. These are companies and entrepreneurs we believe are on the cusp of helping to lead a major advance in the development of the communications or enterprise infrastructure markets. Specific characteristics sought include a market edge, large market potential, viable exit strategies, and an exceptional return on investment.

     We also know firsthand that early stage companies require a great deal of time and cultivation and that the real work begins after the investment. As a result, we limit the number of venture capital financing investments we make so that each company gets the attention it needs and deserves.
